With the smpt service configurated and activated, when the user finish his register on the forum, the next page will be an error message (SQL ERROR, as described in the first post of this topic).
We also did tests with the version of phpBB 3.0.2, the system worked and did not show an error.
I turned off the smtp service and the forum returned to work normally.
