ATOM Feed Not Showing Global Announcements

I'm not certain if this is something percuiler to my forum. One of my forum members noted that his google feed fetcher does not show posts which have been set as "global announcements".

On my forum I have an area which only registered members can see. This area is marked in the "Exclude these forums" config. Could it be that because the global announcement is also present in this area it is being blocked from being shown in any of the ATOM feeds?

Normal announcements which are put in individual forum areas are fine and show just not global announcements?

I've tested this by creating a global announcement and then looking at the site, news, all topics, all forum feeds and it is not present. However moving the global to a "local" announce in the same forum where the global was originally posted allows it to appear.
