Upload Avatar

When uploading an avatar, via PC. I choose the image, even if its bigger then what my forum accepts. Then image text shows up, and when I click to submit and error appears saying the image is too big.

Why not having the same as gravatar? Why not appear the:

Avatar dimensions:
Specify the width and height of the avatar, leave blank to attempt automatic verification.

If that appeared, we would choose a dimension lower then the forum accepts and the forum would resize the avatar to the dimension we choose on the field height and width and would be resized and sended! As gravatar works.

There is many ways for making this better. But this upload avatar and remote avatar is so bad and needs a good improvement.
