Shorten time needed for database update

I just ran the database update for my 3.0.8 board to 3.1.1 and for many of the migrations I was presented with:
The database update has not yet completed.
Continue database update (button)

The upgrade took longer than it needed to because I had to sit on the page and wait for each one to complete. This can do with some automation especially if there are no errors on the migration. If there is some need to show the results of the migration at every step then they should be shown for a few seconds and then the upgrade should continue by itself if there are no errors. This can be accomplished through JavaScript if need be.

Also the presence of the above mentioned button was not immediately obvious in some cases, including the last step, because the page was longer than what fits on my screen so adding an anchor to focus on the button area to the URL might be a good idea.
