When running the upgrade script and reaching the "Chech Files" page there is a list of files with a "[ Show differences ]" link beside them. If you click on one of these links a popup window is displayed showing the file contents.

If you then click on another link the popup window goes to the back of the main browser window rather that just displaying the new data.
