      We discussed this on IRC:

      Is it possible to do inline linked attached images also as download.php instead of using the direct files/... link? There is probably a reason why that is not yet done yet, but it would have a lot of advantages to do it.

      One could .htaccess the files/ folder by default for instance, which is not yet possible without breaking attachments functionality
