use DOM scripting to hide unnecessary input fields

If you go to General -> Authentication, you'll see that the default authentication method is Db. You'll also see a bunch of input forms for LDAP settings. I don't believe this is either necessary or appropriate. DOM scripting should be used to hide the LDAP settings unless Ldap is selected as the authentication method.

There are other places where the use of DOM scripting to hide unneeded inputs would be appropriate.
