Current avatar not removed when uploading with different extension

If a new avatar is uploaded and the extension of the new avatar is not the same as the previous, the old one is not removed, and remains uploaded. However, if the extension is the same, the old avatar is overwritten. The behavior should be consistent, regardless of the extension of the old/new avatars.
