        Hi,

        If an user account was activated and then has been deactivated by the administrator from ACP for any reason, this inactive user will continue to receive by email all reports for which he is subscribed.

        In older versions of phpBB any inactive member wasn't receiving notifications posts in topics or mass emails.

        This affects notification emails as well, not only mass emails.

        While annoying this bug can even lead to blacklisting as a SPAM sender when there was a good reason a user was deactivated and still receives notifications.

        I have not checked if this affects users that changed their email adress and therefore must revalidate their account. This would be worst if emails are send to not validated recipients.

        I can't reproduce this with mass emails but with notifications. All notifications. With every inactive user. This is pretty bad.

        However I would probably not remove the ability for inactive users to "recieve" notifications, only emails and jabber. Any opinions on this?

        Doesn't look difficult to fix as this code in the messenger_base.php is being used

        if ($user['user_type'] == USER_IGNORE || in_array($notification->user_id, $banned_users))

        So just add in a check for USER_INACTIVE

        if ($user['user_type'] == USER_IGNORE || $user['user_type'] == USER_INACTIVE || in_array($notification->user_id, $banned_users))

        which will then take care of emails and jabber notifications.
