A dot in email address leads to unwanted extraneous dot

Hello,

Try a post with the text below on phpbb.com:
John Doe [ john.doe@example.com ]

The resulting post will have:
John Doe [ john.doe@example.com. ]

See the extraneous dot after the "com"
