After installing phpBB the created topic "Welcome to phpBB3" does not appear in the list "View active topics".

'Your first forum' should have the 'Display active topics:' set to 'Yes' so the topic appears in the active topics list. It should also be changed, because the default setting when creating a new forum is 'Yes'.
