If you take a look at this post

you will see that categories are also allowed the same type of permissions as forums (eg, "can ignore flood" etc). If you can't post (or whatever) into a category why offer the permission(s) that relate to that action? Not sure if the same is true of links but I would assume so. I guess what I am saying is, it would be nice to have the code limit the permission that is available to the Admin to set. EG, I can totally understand the permission "can see forum/can read forum" but the other permissions available seem, uhmmm excuse please, worthless IMHO.
Searched tickets and haven't seen this one raised before, mea culpa if so.
